The longest nature trail in Slovakia is located at the confluence of the rivers Morava and Danube in Devín and is 80 kilometres long. The trail along the Morava River starts in Devín, then runs through Vysoká by Morava, Záhorská Ves, Suchohrad, Gajary, Malé and Veľké Leváre and ends at the border crossing of the Moravian Svätý Ján – Hohenau.

The Gate of Freedom was unveiled on 17 November 2005, the Day of the Struggle for Freedom and Democracy. The work by Petr Meszároš depicts a shot-up gate with a metal grill inside. The monument is carved with the inscription, “The Communist regime shot, mined, and electrocuted and otherwise murdered four hundred people trying to escape through the ‘Iron Curtain’ at the Czechoslovak border in 1946-1989,” followed by four hundred names. They represent four hundred extinguished human destinies.

In our cozy place we offer especially the traditional Devín currant wine – currant wine made from red, black, but also white currants from Devínská Kobyla, for which Devín has long been famous far and wide. However, you can also taste grape wines from Devínská Kobyla and the Lesser Carpathian region. There is a pleasant seating area on the summer terrace, under two linden trees, so it offers pleasant shade in the summer months.

The lookout tower is built on the highest point of Devínská Kobyla at an altitude of 514 m above sea level. The tower offers a view of three countries – Hungary, Bohemia, Austria from 20 m above the terrain with accessibility from Devínská Nová Ves, Dúbravka, Dlhý Dely, Karlova Ves-Kútiky and from Devín Castle.

The Sandberg sand outcrop is a unique remnant of the Tertiary Baden Sea from 15 million years ago. Over 350 different types of fossils have been found here, including shark teeth, whale vertebrae, octopus remains and monkey bones. Among the rarest finds are the teeth of a dryopithecus. However, access to the site is forbidden for safety and conservation reasons (unstable rock). You can enjoy the view from the hiking trail that continues to Weitov quarry and further to Devín.

In the past called Devínsky kameňolom, it is located on the western slope of the Devínska Kobyla National Nature Reserve, for which the 4th level of protection applies. In the past, it was also part of the First Bratislava Limeworks, which operated from the end of the 19th century until 1935. Wait’s Quarry is an interesting natural site, characterised by abundant fossils and extremely rare fauna and flora. There is a large circular labyrinth in the Waite Quarry. It is a replica of the famous labyrinth from Chrates, created by Martin Kálavský.
