Kalwaria Zebrzydowska - Wadowice

The trail that connects the Shrine of the Passion of Our Lord and Our Lady Kalwaria Zebrzydowska and the Papal Shrine of Wadowice. The trail goes its way through the beautiful landscape of the Wieliczka Hills and begins at the sanctuary of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska and leads to Calvary Hill, where the chapels of the Passion of Christ are located: the Exposition Chapel, the Church of the Crucifixion, the Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre, the Chapel of the Finding of the Holy Cross and the Chapel of the Anointing. The trail then leads to the summit of Mount Żar (527 m) and passes the ruins of the castle of the Dukes of Oświęcim. After passing Mount Żar, we descend to Łękawica, where the Church of St Joseph is located. From Łękawica we ascend to Jaroszowicka Góra (544 m) and continue along the path across the bridge over the Skawa River and onto the cycle path leading to Wadowice, to the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, and then into the centre of the town, to the birthplace of John Paul II, where Karol Wojtyła was born on 18 May 1920.
