Radim Holiš is originally a building designer. He entered politics as a member of the ANO political party in 2014, when he was elected as a councillor of Rožnov pod Radhoštěm and became mayor of the town. In autumn 2020, he was elected a councillor and governor of the Zlín Region. In 2021, he resigned from his seat in the Parliament of the Czech Republic and resigned as Mayor of Rožnov pod Radhoštěm in order to devote himself fully to his work in the leadership of the Zlín Region.
