Hungary played an important role in the diplomatic support of the mission thanks to Prince Kocel, who ruled in Pannonia. His seat at Mosaburg (modern-day Zalav\u00e1r near Balaton) hosted the brothers during their journey to Rome and briefly became a center of Slavic learning. Kocel had dozens of students trained, helping to spread literacy and culture throughout the region.
