Star\u00e9 M\u011bsto, with its roots tracing back to the 6th century, is home to several ancient agricultural and artisan settlements. In the 9th century, Star\u00e9 M\u011bsto was a key part of Velihrad, one of the two main centers of Great Moravia. This historic area also included a settlement in what is now the center of Uhersk\u00e9 Hradi\u0161t\u011b and a religious hub on the heights of Sady. Star\u00e9 M\u011bsto was home to a significant power complex, featuring a stone palace for the Moravian princes and a rotunda.
