As you traverse the Cyril and Methodius Route from Mistelbach to Ernstbrunn, you’ll pass through a series of charming villages that are rich in culture and history. The journey begins in Mistelbach, a gateway to the Weinviertel region, known for its vibrant wine culture.
You will go through the quaint villages of Huttendorf and Steinbach, each offering its own unique charm and character. These villages are integral stops on the pilgrimage, providing a glimpse into the local culture and history. As you walk through Huttendorf and Steinbach, you’ll be welcomed by the warm hospitality of the residents and the peaceful rural atmosphere that makes the Cyril and Methodius Route a memorable and spiritually enriching journey.

The path also leads you through the Leiser mountains natural park near Ernstbrunn, offering breathtaking natural scenery and a chance to explore the local flora and fauna. Upon reaching Ernstbrunn, you can ascend Mount Oberleis, standing at 454 meters, where a lookout post provides an impressive panorama of the surrounding landscape.
Each village along the Cyril and Methodius Route offers a unique glimpse into the rural beauty of Lower Austria, making the pilgrimage an enriching experience that goes beyond the physical journey.
