In the past, there was also a fortified castle (manor house) on the right bank of the river Myjava near Šaštín, which is now considerably altered and converted into an industrial area. A small hunting lodge, Belveder, used to stand in the woods about 1 km northeast of the castle. Near the town there are water areas with a recreation centre Gazárka.
