Cyril and Methodius Route held the conference in Kroměříž |

The evaluation of the development of the Cyril and Methodius Route and the further potential of the international tourist offer was the topic of a conference organised by the ECRSCM association on 10 September at the Archbishop's Castle in Kroměříž, Czechia. Representatives of the association presented to almost seventy Czech and Slovak participants from the public administration, education, culture, tourism, church and non-profit sector the activities implemented since 2021, when the Route was certified as a Cultural Route of the Council of Europe. The association will defend this prestigious certificate in May 2025. Keynote speakers included Martina Dlabajová, MEP 2014-2024, who spoke about the importance and benefits of cultural routes in Europe and the need for cooperation. |

The conference also featured two exhibitions: the exhibition The Life of St. Constantine-Cyril and Relics and Selected Realities and Sites of Nitra from the Great Moravian and Medieval Period, prepared by the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra, and the exhibition Aquileia, World Heritage Site by the Aquileia Foundation. The exhibition on Aquileia will be on display at the castle until the end of October. The event was organized in cooperation with the Administration of the Archbishop's Castle and Gardens in Kroměříž, the City of Kroměříž and the East Moravia Tourist Authority.

Cyclists conquered the first stage of pilgrimage from Uherský Brod to Aquileia |

Cyclists from the Czech Republic and Slovakia organized by Orel Uherský Brod arrived in Aquileia, Italy, after a route of almost 900 kilometers. From 3rd to 11th August they successfully completed the first stage of their pilgrimage, which will continue from Aquileia to Rome next year. Their reward was a tour of Aquileia and a swim in the sea. They had an accompanying bus and a cook at their disposal. The youngest participant was ten years old, the oldest 77. 90 men including six priests attended the pilgrimage, and 40 women. Whole families also got on their bikes. The event was organized in cooperation and under the auspices of the ECRSCM association. |

Cyril and Methodius Route at the largest historical festival about Great Moravia |

On the weekend of 10-11 August, the 19th year of the historical festival Veligrad - the fight for the hillfort took place, organized by the Archaeological Open-air Museum in Modrá and the association Velkomoravané (Great-Moravians). The highlight of the rich programme is the annual reconstruction of the medieval battle. The Cyril and Methodius Route was presented with a stand with promotional printed materials. |

Along the Cyril and Methodius Route with the Chřiby guide |

On Sunday, 18th August, another walking tour along the Cyril and Methodius Route in Chřiby Hills with Pavel Zrna, alias the Chřiby guide, took place. This time he led the visitors from the giant sequoias in the settlement of Chabaně near Břestek around the Břestek Rock to the Buchlov Castle and from there back through the Chapel of St. Barbara. The weather was good and the participation was abundant. |

Cyril and Methodius Route at the fair SACROEXPO Slovakia |

The Cyril and Methodius Route was represented at the 2nd annual SACROEXPO fair in Bratislava at the Incheba exhibition Area, which took place on 13-14 September. It was possible, for example, to hold a meeting with the Archbishop of Bratislava, Mons. Stanislav Zvolensky or Apostolic Nuncio Mons. Nicola Girasoli. Exhibitors from Slovakia, Czechia, Poland, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, USA and Ukraine presented their products and services at the fair. It also included an exhibition of sacred art. The Cyril and Methodius Route was represented by Tatiana Mikušová, Zuzana Baloghová and Terézia Zaujecová. |

Evropská kulturní cesta sv. Cyrila a Metoděje is an interest association of legal entities based in the Czech Republic, founded in 2013. It promotes the living Cyrillo-Methodian legacy and values based on respect and dialogue between people of different cultures and faiths. As a cultural tourism product, the Cyril and Methodius Route was awarded the title of a Cultural Route of the Council of Europe in 2021. The European Cultural Route of Sts. Cyril and Methodius is responsible for its management and marketing. |
