Cyril and Methodius Route won an award at a conference in Luhačovice
|

The European Cultural Route of Saints Cyril and Methodius was awarded for the international development of its tourist product. This happened on 18 February at a tourism conference in Luhačovice, Czech Republic, the theme of which was readiness for foreign clients. |

The award was received from Ivan Láska, Zlín Region Councillor for Culture and Tourism, by Dana Daňová, Chair of the Managing Committee of the European Cultural Route of Saints Cyril and Methodius: "I still see the Cyril and Methodius Route, I was at the beginning of in 2011, as a huge challenge and as a tourist product with extraordinary potential. With its theme, which is Slavic cultural heritage, and its sustainable form of travel with a wide range of experiences, it attracts the attention of both domestic and international visitors." |

ECRSCM Marketing Group met in Bratislava

A meeting of the Marketing Group, led by Tatiana Mikušová, Director of the Slovak House of Centrope, was held on 6 February at the headquarters of the Bratislava Self-Governing Region. The members discussed topics such as the forthcoming magazine about the Cyril and Methodius Route, the website, the association's social networks and other communication tools. The meeting resulted in a number of new suggestions and tasks to improve communication about the Cyril and Methodius Route. |

Meeting of Slovak members of the ECRSCM

On 12 February, a meeting of the Slovak members of the ECRSCM took place in Nitra. The subject of the meeting was information about the upcoming activities of individual members and preparation of the calendar of events 2025 in Slovakia, proposals for the use of the financial contribution for the national coordinator. Other topics discussed were the process of tourist and cycling signage in each region, information on the recertification process, information on the common website and the system of its completion, and points of interest and their correct definition. A preliminary visual of the forthcoming promotional magazine Europe - along the Cyril and Methodius Route, which is being intensively developed, was also presented. In the second part of the meeting, the workshop was held with the coordinator of the future strategic document of the Cyril and Methodius Route in Slovakia, Dr. Iveta Ňinajová. |

Výstava věnovaná odkazu svatých Cyrila a Metoděje ve Velké Preslavi

On the eve of the Feast of the Dormition of St. Cyril, the Veliki Preslav Archaeological Museum presented the exhibition "In the Footsteps of the Disciples: The Cyril and Methodius Route in Bulgaria – Part of the European Cultural Route of the Council of Europe." Developed by the Cyril and Methodius Research Center at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, with financial support from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria, the exhibition showcases the enduring influence of Cyril and Methodius heritage in Bulgaria and their role in shaping Bulgarian national identity. The event welcomed children from St. Cyril and Methodius Primary School in Dragoevo village, representatives of the cultural centers (chitalishta), officials from Veliki Preslav Municipality, and members of the local community. |

This year, the Cyril and Methodius Research Center at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the National Museum "Earth and People" celebrated the Dormition of Cyril with a solemn event on February 14, 2025. The program featured the presentation of the exhibition "Cyril and Methodius – Then and Now" by Prof. Slavia Barlieva, a short musical performance by choristers from the National High School for Ancient Languages and Cultures "St. Constantine-Cyril the Philosopher," and a lecture titled "Festive Celebrations of the Holy Brothers in Contemporary Europe," delivered by Dr. Elka Zlateva.

Evropská kulturní cesta sv. Cyrila a Metoděje is an interest association of legal entities based in the Czech Republic, founded in 2013. It promotes the living Cyrillo-Methodian legacy and values based on respect and dialogue between people of different cultures and faiths. As a cultural tourism product, the Cyril and Methodius Route was awarded the title of a Cultural Route of the Council of Europe in 2021. The Association European Cultural Route of Sts. Cyril and Methodius is responsible for its management and marketing. |
