Living Cultural Heritage
Hungary played an important role in the diplomatic support of the mission thanks to Prince Kocel, who ruled in Pannonia. His seat at Mosaburg (modern-day Zalavár near Balaton) hosted the brothers during their journey to Rome and briefly became a center of Slavic learning. Kocel had dozens of students trained, helping to spread literacy and culture throughout the region. This stop highlights the close cooperation between Central European rulers of that time.

Budapest – Hungarian National Museum
The Hungarian National Museum collects, preserves, and presents the historical relics of the Carpathian Basin and Hungary since 1802. The museum houses a great number of collections. One of them is the famous Zalavár archaeology collection. The finds date from the 9th century to the 17th century and were recovered from settlements or cemeteries since 1951.
